Transitioning SDG Activities from "Knowing" to "Working Together" ~Unveiling the New Wrapping Train "Yume-Machi Action Train"~ ~Holding the "Yume-Machi Action Team" Event~

Hankyu Hanshin Holdings is advancing the "Hankyu Hanshin Future Yume-Machi Project" (hereinafter, Yume-Machi Project), aiming to realize "towns where people want to live for generations to come" in the regions where each of us involved, primarily along the Hankyu Hanshin lines, are connected. On April 18 (Saturday), we will unveil the new "Yume-Machi Action Train," which will replace the "SDGs Train," and hold a participatory event, "Yume-Machi Action Team," where people of diverse generations can think together about "towns where people want to live for generations to come." The "Yume-Machi Action Train" will feature new characters with the theme of "working together," in addition to the characters that have led community contribution activities on the "SDGs Train." The new characters are motifs of "clover," symbolizing the creation of a sustainable local environment, and "heart," symbolizing the nurturing of the next generation. They will experience diverse social contribution activities with a casual feeling of "it looks a little fun" or "I might be interested." Furthermore, the train's exterior wrapping will express the vitality and emotion of people participating in various initiatives towards realizing "towns where people want to live for generations to come." Interior hanging posters and posters next to doors will introduce initiatives in collaboration with companies, civic groups, and local governments. At the unveiling of the "Yume-Machi Action Train" on April 18 (Saturday), the participatory event "Yume-Machi Action Team" will be held inside the "Yume-Machi Action Train" parked at Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station. This event allows participants of a wide range of ages to enjoy and participate in social contribution activities according to their interests and abilities, and is carried out in collaboration with civic groups funded by the "Hankyu Hanshin Future Yume-Machi Fund." Specifically, participants can experience programs to learn about marine environmental conservation and revitalization activities, programs to understand the feelings of children with disabilities or difficulties that are not easily understood from their appearance, and programs to learn about resource circulation. Through this event, we hope to provide opportunities to not only "know" but also to "act," realizing that even small actions lead to contributions, and to serve as a trigger for thinking about "towns where people want to live for generations to come." Our company has been engaged in promoting SDGs through initiatives like the SDGs Train. In recent years, many people have become aware of SDGs, and the number of individuals taking small actions in their daily lives is increasing. However, there are also challenges that are difficult for individuals to solve alone, and themes where it is hard to find a way to get involved. Therefore, by providing opportunities to "work together" through participatory events, workshops, and sharing of easily implementable actions in daily life, we aim to establish a system that circulates learning and action, thereby creating more sustainable and tangible change.
