J-AIR x Hanshin Umeda Main Store Joint Project: 'Flying Fresh-Picked Cherries' Sale

Location: 'Nishikatsu Seika', B1F, Hanshin Umeda Main Store

Date/Time: From noon on Friday, June 19 (While supplies last)

Cherries are highly perishable and difficult to manage for freshness. Therefore, teaming up with J-AIR and JA Zen-Noh Yamagata, this joint project aims to bring peak-seasonal cherries like 'Yamagata Benio' from Higashine City, Yamagata—Japan's top-producing region—directly to customers. By transporting them via air cargo, cherries are placed on store shelves just 7.5 hours after being harvested in the morning.

Fresh food buyers personally visited the local sites in Yamagata, leveraging the overwhelming speed of air transport to bring the fresh taste of morning-harvested cherries—normally only available at the production site—directly to customers in Osaka. Furthermore, J-AIR cabin crew will appear in-store to assist with hospitality and promote the initiative.

<Schedule for Friday, June 19 (Planned)> - 4:30: Buyers harvest cherries at a farm under 'JA Sakuranbo Higashine' in Yamagata Prefecture. - 8:50: Transported by air via J-AIR direct fresh service (Departing Yamagata Airport, arriving at Itami Airport). - 12:00: Sales begin at 'Nishikatsu Seika', B1F, Hanshin Umeda Main Store (Approx. 40kg planned). - 12:00–17:00: J-AIR cabin crew appear in-store to promote the event.

*Note: Deliveries may not occur due to weather or other conditions.
