Hanshin Umeda Main Store's Art Gallery actively promotes paintings, objets d'art, and art goods that can be easily enjoyed.
This time, we introduce the "Nobuko Numano / Kunihiko Nohara Duo Exhibition".
Nobuko Numano reveals the presence of "things" by depicting them without excessive detail. Based on personal experiences and sensations, she states, "There are things that become visible when unnecessary elements are stripped away, and I hope that this will be an opportunity for viewers to touch upon their own memories and emotions." In recent years, under the theme of portraiture, she has chosen motifs deeply connected to her own memories and thoughts, transforming them into artworks.
Kunihiko Nohara consistently creates works with the theme of "comfortable moments." The diving goggles that commonly appear in his works symbolize anonymity, providing viewers with an opportunity to overlay their own experiences and emotions. He states, "I create physical forms of the various scenes I have perceived. I express freedom, time, and desires that might otherwise be excluded from memory. I feel that these are important for me to be myself, and for others to be themselves."
Please come and see their unique and individual works.
