Hanshin Umeda Main Store's Art Gallery actively promotes paintings, objects, and art goods that can be enjoyed casually.
This time, we introduce the "Shigeo Izumi Solo Exhibition."
The solo exhibition by Shigeo Izumi, who primarily depicts Western buildings, landscapes, and still life, will showcase both oil paintings and watercolors.
The texture created by applying oil paints layer upon layer while tracing memories evokes the flow of time along with the paint, giving the works a profound impression. The watercolors are characterized by their delicate, subtle colors and sharp lines, exuding a dignified atmosphere. Mr. Izumi states, "During the creative process, there are moments when the canvas becomes taut. At that moment, the space within the painting closes, colors and lines are contained, and I hesitate to paint further. In reality, such moments are rare, but I continue to paint in pursuit of that tension." Please come and see his works, which possess these two distinct charms.
