Einno Semiconductor, a developer of power ICs and ezSiP® power modules, has announced the EZ8648, an 8A, 4-output DC/DC converter module optimized for Point-of-Load (POL) power applications for FPGAs and ASICs.

This product is a highly integrated power module that can supply multiple power rails from a single device, reducing PCB area and simplifying power supply design in high-density systems.

Supports high current output up to 16A in dual-output configuration and up to 32A in single-output configuration

The EZ8648 is designed for FPGA and ASIC platforms that require multiple power rails. A single module can provide four independent outputs of up to 8A, making it possible to supply I/O and auxiliary power for FPGAs and ASICs from a single compact module.

The four output channels can also be used in combination to support high-current outputs of up to 16A in a dual-output configuration or up to 32A in a single-output configuration, making it ideal for FPGA and ASIC core power applications. Furthermore, by connecting multiple EZ8648 modules in parallel, it is possible to construct a high-current power supply system exceeding 64A.

Achieves ultra-low EMI noise performance with exSilent® EMI suppression technology

This module integrates the main components required for a switching regulator—controller, MOSFETs, and inductors—into a 16mm × 11.9mm BGA package. The package height is only 3.32mm, making it suitable for high-density mounting applications using heat sinks or cold plates. The input voltage range is 2.8V to 18V, and it can operate as a POL power supply from a standard 5V or 12V bus.

This allows it to be applied to systems containing noise-sensitive signal processing circuits, such as measurement and medical equipment.

In addition, the built-in exSilent EMI suppression technology achieves ultra-low EMI noise performance even in harsh application environments without requiring a dedicated PCB layout.

Furthermore, the EZ8648 features a voltage tracking function to meet the power sequencing requirements of the latest FPGAs and ASICs.
