Crowdfunding for Tokyo Handaen Chaho's First Overseas Store in Sydney Exceeds 1.5 Million Yen! Support Accepted Until April 20 (Monday).

Tokyo Handaen Chaho Co., Ltd. (Head office: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Minoru Handa), which operates a Japanese tea retail and wholesale business, began crowdfunding on CAMPFIRE on March 20, 2026, to raise funds for the opening of its Sydney Surry Hills store in July 2026. Following its participation in JAPAN EXPO PARIS in 2024, Tokyo Handaen Chaho has held workshops and pop-up events in various parts of the world, including Paris, Barcelona, Sydney, and Cebu, delivering "the richness of Japanese tea beyond matcha" to the world.

Through these events, we realized the necessity of a continuous "place". Therefore, we decided to open our first overseas store in Surry Hills, Sydney, and are challenging this crowdfunding to raise funds for its opening. As of April 2 (Thursday), we have received over 1.5 million yen in support from 146 people.

The store opening this time will be Sydney's first Japanese tea specialty store, aiming to be a comprehensive showroom introducing various types of Japanese tea and its culture. We have received continuous messages of support from everyone in the Japanese tea industry.

■ Towards the crowdfunding goal of 3 million yen

The crowdfunding campaign will run until Monday, April 20, 2026. The target amount is 3 million yen, and the funds raised will be primarily used for initial opening costs, focusing on interior construction costs for the Sydney store.
