◆Asakusa Shrine Grand Festival 'Sanja Matsuri' ▲On the days of the Sanja Matsuri, the Kaminarimon lantern is folded so that the portable shrines can pass through. The Asakusa Sanja Matsuri is a traditional festival with a history of approximately 700 years, centered around the 44 Ujiko (parishioner) towns of Asakusa Shrine, with Shinto rituals held over three days on the 3rd Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of May each year. Last year, this major event attracted 1.77 million people to Asakusa over three days. Please come and enjoy the lively atmosphere of Asakusa and the overwhelming power of the festival.

◆Enjoy Asakusa's Sanja Matsuri at Hanayashiki! To commemorate the Sanja Matsuri, Asakusa Hanayashiki will also host a 'Kids Mikoshi' event inside the park on Saturday, May 16th, and Sunday, May 17th. Children up to the 6th grade of elementary school will carry portable shrines and parade through the park, adding to the festive atmosphere. This popular annual event allows visitors to easily experience Asakusa's culture without the need for reservations.

◆The Main Event of the Sanja Matsuri! 'Ritual Day' The final day, Sunday, May 17th, is the main ritual day of the Sanja Matsuri, when three main shrine portable shrines (Miya Mikoshi) and approximately 100 town portable shrines (Machi Mikoshi) are carried by parishioners and other bearers. Portable shrines will pass in front of Hanayashiki's entrance, allowing you to enjoy the amusement park in a special atmosphere. We sincerely look forward to your visit.
