What is Hanauta Garden-Ito?

Hanauta Garden-Ito

Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Sen no Hanabana Memorial Garden (Representative Director: Shin Akasaka, Location: Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture) opened the large-scale tree burial cemetery "Hanauta Garden-Ito" on September 21, 2024, in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

A place of eternal rest surrounded by spectacular scenery

"Hanauta Garden-Ito" is a large-scale cemetery with over 10,000 plots, built on a vast hill of approximately 48,000m² within a national park overlooking Sagami Bay and the Izu Seven Islands. The hill is successively adorned with 140 varieties of flowering trees and plants that bloom throughout the four seasons, such as roses, cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, hydrangeas, crape myrtles, and rosemary. Mount Fuji can also be seen from the management office. The bright atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature allows bereaved families to spend time as if visiting a resort.

At "Hanauta Garden-Ito," we propose a new style of "Flower Interment Ceremony" that values individual thoughts and feelings, blesses eternal rest with a flower shower, does not involve incense burning or offerings, and recommends casual attire for send-offs. The bones are pulverized, and original paper urns that dissolve in the soil are used. Surrounded by nature, one can return to the earth, become a flower, and enter eternal rest. Not only the altar, but also the grave
