Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine Establishes Endowed Course in "Educational Neuroscience" through Hamagakuen's Donation

Through a donation from Hamagakuen Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Katsutoshi Takemori), a cram school, the "Educational Neuroscience" endowed course was established at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, effective April 1, 2026.

This endowed course aims to elucidate the brain mechanisms underlying education and learning by leveraging cutting-edge brain measurement and analysis technologies, based on a deep understanding of neuroscience and rigorous scientific methods.

■ Background and Objectives of Establishment

In the society of the future, both cognitive abilities, such as knowledge and academic proficiency, and non-cognitive abilities, such as the power to challenge and persevere, are indispensable. Hamagakuen focuses not only on improving academic performance but also on fostering non-cognitive skills, such as the ability to continue efforts toward a goal and to confront difficulties.

At the core of these efforts is the mission to "cultivate the power to challenge society's growth potential through the best learning," aiming to contribute to the sustainable growth of education and society.

■ Future Outlook

We aim to return the research results of this course to society and to improve the quality of education based on evidence. Furthermore, we will create new possibilities for learning and build a foundation to support the growth of children who will lead the next generation.
