Hakuto's Own Skincare Brand TAEKO Sunscreen Inducted into Sustainable Cosmetics Award Hall of Fame

Hakuto Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Tamaki Miyashita; Securities Code: 7433; hereinafter, "the Company") is pleased to announce that its own skincare brand "TAEKO" sunscreen has received the Jury's Special Award in the Biodiversity category at the Sustainable Cosmetics Award 2025, and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. This is the third award since its initial recognition at the same award in 2020.

TAEKO Sunscreen meets Japan's highest standards with SPF50+, PA++++, and UV water resistance ★★, and is a sunscreen that does not use UV absorbers, which are one of the causes of coral reef bleaching. We were highly praised for our product technology, which combines an additive-free formula* with UV protection effects and a comfortable feel without the characteristic odor or stickiness, as well as our coral reef regeneration activities.

Being inducted into the Hall of Fame in the brand's 10th anniversary year marks a significant achievement, demonstrating that the continuous efforts in product development and environmental protection activities under TAEKO's concept of "kind to people and the earth" have borne fruit. We will continue to propose and engage in ethical skincare activities, living up to the honor of being in the Hall of Fame.

What is the Sustainable Cosmetics Award?

This is Japan's first and only award that establishes evaluation and screening criteria from an SDGs perspective in the field of cosmetics and fine toiletries, recognizing "cosmetics that are kind to people and the earth."

Initiated by volunteer ambassadors of the Ministry of the Environment's "Connect and Support Forests, Rivers, and Seas Project," it started in 2019 as a multifaceted, neutral, and fair award, inviting experts from various fields such as environment, media, and cosmetics as judges, and also appointing students engaged in environmental activities as secretariat staff and judges.

Based on evaluation criteria rooted in an SDGs perspective, it promotes the sustainability of cosmetics by evaluating, screening, and recognizing products throughout their entire lifecycle, including ingredients, raw material production, manufacturing, sales, distribution, consumption, and disposal.

The award ceremony was held on March 20, 2026, at NEWoMan Takanawa, where past award-winning items were also exhibited.
