## Survey on Pre-Rainy Season Safety Measures
During the rainy season, drivers often feel anxious due to poor visibility caused by rain, water droplets, oil film on windshields, or streaking from wipers.
Especially during heavy rain or night driving, lights from oncoming vehicles can blur, and water droplets may remain even after using wipers, making it difficult to confirm road conditions.
We surveyed 200 car owners about their experiences of feeling scared or having near-misses due to poor visibility while driving in the rain, and what measures they are taking to ensure clear visibility for the rainy season.
### Survey Result 1: 94.0% have felt scared due to poor visibility in the rain
When asked if they had ever experienced feeling scared or having near-misses while driving in the rain due to poor visibility, the most common response was "Sometimes" at 110 cases (55.0%).
This was followed by "1-2 times" at 62 cases (31.0%) and "Often" at 16 cases (8.0%).
Combined, these account for 188 cases, or 94.0% of respondents.
Poor visibility in rain is a familiar driving risk experienced by many, not just a few drivers.
### Survey Result 2: Drivers in their 40s reported the highest experience rate at 98.6%
By age group, the highest experience of feeling scared due to poor visibility was among those aged 40-49, with 73 cases (98.6%).
This was followed by those in their 30s (94.8%) and 50s (91.3%).
### Survey Result 3: "Water-repellent coating" is the most common measure
When asked about measures taken to ensure visibility, the most common response was "Applying a water-repellent coating" at 73 cases (36.5%).
This was followed by "Doing nothing in particular" at 66 cases (33.0%) and "Wiping windows frequently" at 59 cases (29.5%).
