Cosplay Event 'acosta!' Held for the First Time in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Attracting 15,000 Cosplayers and Photographers

Hacosta Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Representative Director: Yoshihiro Matsumura) and uniicreative Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taipei City, Representative Director: Owen Lee) successfully held 'acosta!', one of Japan's largest cosplay events, for the first time in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, at the large multi-purpose commercial facility 'Dream Mall' on April 11 (Saturday) and 12 (Sunday), 2026. The event attracted 15,000 cosplayers and photographers. Following the Taipei event at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (held in May 2025), 'acosta!' was held for the first time in Kaohsiung, the largest port city in southern Taiwan, at the Asia's largest multi-purpose commercial facility 'Dream Mall.' 15,000 cosplayers and photographers from all over Taiwan, including those who participated in the previous Taipei event and first-time 'acosta!' participants, gathered and enjoyed interaction and photo shoots in various venues such as the mall's courtyard, rooftop, underground parking lot, and outdoor Japanese garden. Various cosplay-related activities were held at the event, including a parade where cosplayers walked around the venue and 'acosta! Marche,' a doujinshi market specializing in cosplay. Japanese cosplayers interacted with overseas fans through instant photo sessions, and participants expressed comments like 'I'm happy that many popular Japanese cosplayers came.' General participants from Japan were also seen, with comments such as 'Thanks to my favorite character, I came to Kaohsiung for the first time and had a great time,' leading to cultural exchange. On the main stage set up in the venue, 'CDEF' (Cosplay Dance Entertainment Festival) was held, and during 'acosta! Dance Time,' where anime songs and popular tunes played randomly, participants enjoyed dancing to Japanese songs. When Taiwanese songs played, cheers and laughter mixed, and participants united to enjoy the event. 'acosta!@Kaohsiung' concluded with great success, with the enthusiasm of the participants overcoming temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius.
