Hakuhodo Gravity and Hakuhodo Cabin Win Double Awards (Gold and Silver) at ADFEST 2026

The "CREATIVE SESSION" project team, which combines the expertise of Hakuhodo Gravity (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasuyuki Kurohara) with the technical capabilities of Hakuhodo Cabin (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Motoya Sunouchi), led the planning and production of the SHIPS Co., Ltd. 50th Anniversary campaign, "CRAFTMAN, SHIPS." The campaign received a "GOLD" award in the FILM CRAFT category and a "SILVER" award in the PRINT & OUTDOOR CRAFT category at ADFEST 2026, held in Pattaya, Thailand.

This follows their "Grand Prix" win at Spikes Asia 2026, marking a remarkable achievement of consecutive wins at two of Asia's major advertising festivals.

ADFEST, founded in 1998, is an international creative festival representing the Asia-Pacific region. It is known as a globally prestigious award that celebrates outstanding creativity across a wide range of fields, including advertising, marketing, digital, and production. This year's theme was "Human+," questioning whether human creativity can generate new value in a world where technologies like AI are evolving. For this campaign, the unwavering stance of SHIPS, which has walked the path of "the best ordinary," was encapsulated in the statement "Moving forward, while staying blue." The project completely excluded digital processing, instead using canvas fabric—also used for ship sails—and the brand's iconic blue thread. It was visualized through overwhelming craftsmanship using "embroidery," the origin of garment making.

In an era where AI can generate videos in minutes, artisans spent 600 hours using 42.5 kilometers of thread to create hundreds of "embroidery frames" (cells), which were then compiled into an animation. This expressed the brand's deep-seated passion for clothing through the hands of the artisans who make them.
