[Purpose of Opening]
With life now extending to 100 years, an increasing number of seniors are engaging in "Shukatsu" to live better and more authentically. Media outlets frequently cover themes such as "funerals," "graves," and "disposal of family homes," leading some to understand and prepare for their own end-of-life planning based on this information.
However, due to their age, seniors can sometimes be misled by incorrect information or become involved in troubles, creating a demand for reliable information dissemination and support from the local community. It was in response to this need that "Shukatsu University" was established by a local funeral home to provide accurate information and practical insights, enabling seniors to engage in end-of-life planning with peace of mind.
Local experts are invited to speak at each session, and the courses are designed to be enjoyable, not just through lectures but also through visits and hands-on experiences, making it easy for participants to learn and aim for the goal of "graduation."
Last year (2025), the program was held over eight sessions, with over 20 participants each time, and successfully saw 15 individuals "graduate" after completing all sessions.
There are still many seniors in the community who "want to learn more" and "want to prepare so as not to trouble their families," leading us to believe that as a local company, we should continue this initiative. Thus, we decided to hold it again this year, following last year's success.
