Gunze Limited announces that its Plastics Company will implement a price revision for its packaging OPP (Oriented Polypropylene) film, effective from shipments on April 21, 2026.
Background and Reasons for Price Revision: Due to the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the procurement prices of crude oil and naphtha have rapidly soared. In response, raw material manufacturers have successively implemented significant price revisions (increases), and we are facing an extremely challenging situation where we must accept these rising costs to maintain a stable supply of products.
Our company has also made efforts to absorb costs through self-help, such as thoroughly reducing manufacturing costs and improving logistics efficiency. However, in addition to raw material costs, the further soaring of logistics costs and auxiliary material costs has significantly exceeded the scope that can be handled by our own efforts.
Therefore, to maintain product quality and fulfill our social responsibility of stable supply to customers, we have reluctantly decided to implement a price revision as follows.
Price Increase Range and Revision Period for Target Products: Product Name: Gunze Packaging OPP Film (all types) Price Revision Range: 1,200 yen/ream (converted to 20μm) Revision Period: From shipments on April 21, 2026 Main Uses: Vegetable and confectionery packaging
*Ream: Refers to 500㎡ for 500mm width x 1000m.
