Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto (Location: Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto; General Manager: Tomoaki Yamada), the flagship brand hotel of Banyan Group, one of the world's leading independent hospitality groups, will host "Seasonal Fruits and Cool Sweets Afternoon Tea" from Saturday, July 4, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026, at "Ryozan," a kappo restaurant on the 3rd floor.

This afternoon tea features cool sweets that reflect the atmosphere of Kyoto in summer, including kuzo ice cream, mizu yokan, kanten jelly, and seasonal fruits. The visually refreshing array of sweets are perfect companions for the hot season. The melt-in-your-mouth hon warabi mochi and the wasanbon panna cotta are paired with a red shiso jelly, where its aroma blends with the smooth texture, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship unique to kappo cuisine in every dish.

Two particularly impressive dishes will add a special touch to your summer moments. "Junsai and Seasonal Fruit Dessert" is an innovative and visually refreshing dish where junsai flavored with mint and lime floats on a lotus leaf with seasonal fruits. "White Pearl Corn Cold Shiruko" is a sustainable shiruko made from sweet pearl corn that would otherwise be discarded, pureed to bring out the full flavor and sweetness of the ingredients.

The savory dishes, prepared by Japanese cuisine artisans, feature Kyoto specialties utilizing summer vegetables and seasonal ingredients. A dish of simmered eggplant with daigo sauce, sesame tofu with a rich dashi broth, and a colorful dish using yamanashi plums and figs add a visually appealing touch of summer Kyoto cuisine to your table.

The skewer-grilled fu (wheat gluten) is a popular classic that guests grill themselves over charcoal, a returning favorite. Experience the savory aroma of charcoal and the fluffy texture.

Included is a free-flow of drinks, with a selection of over 35 types, focusing on Kyoto-specific teas such as hojicha, Japanese black tea, and sencha. Enjoy Kyoto's summer at a leisurely pace while gazing at the deep green of Higashiyama.
