TV Anime Adaptation of 'Himekishi-sama no Himo,' Winner of the 28th Dengeki Novel Prize Grand Prize, Set to Premiere January 2027!

Published under Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko label, 'Himekishi-sama no Himo' (Story: Toi Shirogane, Art: Mashimasaki) is the Grand Prize winner of the 28th Dengeki Novel Prize. The series has surpassed 200,000 copies in cumulative sales (including e-books), establishing itself as a popular franchise.

While the TV anime adaptation was previously announced, its broadcast period has now been confirmed for January 2027. Alongside this announcement, the anime's teaser visual and teaser PV have been released. Additionally, a poster giveaway campaign commemorating the teaser visual's release has been launched.

A weakling who can't even win a fight against women, Matthew lives off money given by Alwin and frequents brothels—essentially a kept man. Though quick-witted and sharp-tongued, he is often mocked by others as a 'wise guy (wiseacre).' He maintains a laid-back demeanor and rarely speaks of his past, which few people know. However, he is fully prepared to do anything, no matter how dirty, for Alwin's sake.

The princess of the fallen kingdom of Maktaroad, destroyed by monsters. Now, to restore her kingdom, she leads the adventurer party 'Aegis of the War Goddess' in exploring labyrinths to find the all-powerful substance known as 'Stellar Crystals.' Revered as the 'Crimson Princess Knight' for her noble cause and dignified character, she possesses exceptional combat skills, capable of overwhelming multiple ordinary adventurers at once. For some reason, she supports Matthew as her kept man. Though she sometimes gets angry at his womanizing ways, he always deflects her with his words and charm.

'Himekishi-sama no Himo,' a fantasy noir novel by Toi Shirogane and Mashimasaki, follows Matthew, a former adventurer now living in the shadows as the kept man of Alwin, a princess from a fallen kingdom. The novel won the Grand Prize out of 4,411 entries in the 28th Dengeki Novel Prize. The first volume was published by Dengeki Bunko in February 2022. The first manga adaptation launched in February 2023, followed by a second manga series in 2025. The long-awaited TV anime will premiere in 2027.

In the labyrinth city of 'Gray Neighbor,' where the great labyrinth 'Millennial White Night' lies, adventurers gather, drawn by the promise of hidden treasures. As light grows stronger, so too does the surrounding darkness.

In this chaotic city, Alwin, the 'Crimson Princess Knight,' shines like a pure flower. With unwavering resolve, she leads her party into labyrinths to reclaim her lost kingdom. Meanwhile, Matthew, Alwin's kept man, is weak in fights, avoids dungeon exploration, and spends his days indulging in alcohol and women, mocked as a 'wise guy.'
