◆Message from Hideki Kamiya

The works introduced in this book are, for me, like my own children that I have walked through life with. To be able to compile them into a single book like this, and to delve deeply into each memory and behind-the-scenes story, is truly a miraculous opportunity.

None of these works were created by my strength alone; the companies I belonged to and the team staff were different at each time. So, when KADOKAWA first approached me with this project, I really wanted to do it! ...but I was half-convinced that it would be difficult in many ways. However, thanks to the kind approval from the rights holders of each title and the creators mentioned in the book, it has miraculously come to fruition.

For each title, I spoke freely from my perspective at the time of its development, putting into words the scenes from my memory as they were, so that everyone can get a sense of how each work took shape, what the development site was like, and the atmosphere of the time.

Furthermore, I have laid bare everything in my mind, including my journey as a game designer facing game production, my way of thinking, and the source of my ideas, with the hope that it will be fruitful not only for those who love games but also for those who aspire to be game creators.

It's a long story (laughs), but like this greeting, it's not told in difficult words, so I think you'll be able to read it smoothly. And by the time you finish reading, your love for each title will surely have deepened even further.
