GMO GlobalSign Holdings K.K. (President and CEO: Mitsuru Aoyama, hereinafter referred to as GMO GlobalSign HD) has entered into a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services Japan LLC (hereinafter referred to as AWS) aimed at accelerating the adoption of generative AI and secure cloud operations and migration for Japanese small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Based on this agreement, GMO GlobalSign HD will combine its cloud operation experience and customer base cultivated through its AWS utilization support service "CloudCREW byGMO" with investment and advanced cloud technologies from AWS. This synergy will address the IT challenges of SMBs and strongly support their sustainable business transformation.

Key Collaboration Points:

Support for Secure Generative AI Adoption and Utilization

Provides integrated services from tool implementation to governance and control design.

Support for Cloud Migration from Planning to Operation

Combines AWS migration programs and assessment tools to provide end-to-end support from planning to operational design.

Enhanced Security and Operations through Managed Services (Operation and Maintenance)

Maintains optimal and secure cloud environments 24/7/365, even with limited internal resources.

Background of Collaboration (Expanding Generative AI Use and Three Challenges Faced by SMBs):

In recent years, the use of generative AI has spread to companies of all sizes, making the adoption and utilization of AI and cloud migration (cloud lift and shift) urgent tasks. However, many SMBs face significant hurdles in their DX promotion due to three main challenges:

1. Security risks such as data management and access control.

2. Establishing a system for continuous operation after implementation.

3. Shortage of specialized personnel.

GMO GlobalSign HD has supported the IT environments of numerous companies as an accredited partner for AWS's "SMB Competency," "MSP Program," and "Migration Competency." Through this strategic collaboration, by maximizing the use of AWS's global support programs and joint investment resources, we will contribute to the social implementation of DX in the Japanese SMB market by creating an environment where companies can use cloud and cutting-edge technologies "safely and securely."

Three Key Initiatives to be Strengthened and Expanded:

Building on the support achievements of the AWS utilization support service "CloudCREW byGMO," we will further strengthen and expand the following three areas in collaboration with AWS:

1. Support for Secure Business Adoption of Generative AI and Governance Construction

Leveraging our experience in building generative AI environments, we will incorporate AWS's latest technologies and verification programs, providing support from requirements definition to environment construction. Beyond simple tool implementation, we will promote the creation of an environment where companies can safely and effectively utilize generative AI by providing integrated "secure control and governance design" that considers practical operations, including measures against information leakage risks, data access control, and the development of usage guidelines.

2. Strengthening Systems and Continuous Improvement through Managed Services (MSP/Operation Outsourcing)

Utilizing our track record in 24/7/365 monitoring, maintenance, and operational management of AWS environments, we will standardize operational rules and incorporate the latest governance methods through collaboration with AWS. This will significantly reduce companies' system operation burdens and promote continuous cost optimization and security improvements to maintain optimal and secure cloud environments even with limited internal resources.

3. Promotion of Optimal Cloud Migration and Support for Internalization

We will further strengthen support for migrating from on-premises (self-operated) environments or existing systems to AWS. By combining AWS's migration support programs and assessment tools, we will provide end-to-end support from migration plan formulation and execution to post-migration operational design. We will support the construction of optimal digital infrastructure with a view to business scalability and provide continuous support with an eye toward future operational internalization (self-sufficiency).
