Ricoh Lease Corporation (President and CEO: Tokuharu Nakamura; hereinafter, Ricoh Lease) and GMO ENPEI, Inc. (*1) (President: Junichi Moriwaki; hereinafter, GMO-EP), a member of the GMO Internet Group, have agreed as of Monday, March 30, 2026, to jointly develop a collection agency solution compatible with multi-payment settlements (*2) to promote the shift to cashless collection operations.

In line with this, GMO-EP has begun providing the system infrastructure for this solution to Ricoh Lease starting Friday, May 1, 2026.

Ricoh Lease will utilize this infrastructure and plans to launch the service under its own brand around spring 2027.

Through this initiative, both companies aim to reduce the burden of cash management, billing, and collection tasks, which are challenges in the field, and to realize a highly convenient payment experience for users.

(*1) GMO-EP is a consolidated subsidiary of GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. (*2) Multi-payment settlement: A solution that allows for the bulk introduction of various payment methods and unifies invoice management and deposits.

[Background and Overview]

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is working to promote cashless payments in collaboration with related ministries, aiming for a cashless payment ratio of 80% in the future, with an interim goal of 65% by 2030. As a result, the cashless payment ratio has been steadily increasing, reaching 58.0% in 2025 (*3).

On the other hand, in billing and collection operations, there are still cases where operations are based on paper and manual work, and reducing the burden on field staff is a challenge.

Against this backdrop, Ricoh Lease has positioned the BPO (*4) field as one of its "priority areas" and offers the collection agency service "Collect!" (direct debit service, convenience store payment service) to support the efficiency of billing and collection operations. Since its launch in February 1984, it has been introduced to over 20,000 (*5) customers in a wide variety of industries, including medical, long-term care and welfare, education, and real estate. Furthermore, since July 2024, it has been offering "School Collect," which specializes in collection operations for school-related private accounting, to solve issues in school fee collection.

Since its founding in 2018, GMO-EP has been promoting the shift to cashless and DX in collection operations, centered on "enpay byGMO," which provides an integrated service from billing to payment and deposit management, mainly in the childcare and education industries. The company has been advancing its services to match field operations, such as providing a function that uses AI to analyze and convert Excel billing data to streamline invoice registration.

Now, the two companies have agreed to collaborate in promoting the shift to cashless collection operations by bringing together their respective achievements and strengths. This has led to the joint development of a collection agency solution compatible with multi-payment settlements, which Ricoh Lease plans to offer anew.
