The nationwide street dance contest "D-SHOCK" (organized by Chord Prise Co., Ltd., Representative Director: Naoya Kurusu) announces the opening of its 2026-2027 season.

Starting with the online early preliminary round in April 2026, the schedule for all 12 preliminary rounds across 7 areas nationwide – Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Kyushu, Chugoku, Hokkaido, and Tohoku – has been decided. Entries are now open.

The biggest highlight of this season is the renewal of the category system. Building upon the traditional division structure, a three-category system has been introduced: PRIME (top-tier), OPEN (challenge), and BASE (development/unawarded). This creates an environment where all dancers, from first-time teams without achievements to national powerhouses, can seriously compete at their respective stages.

▶ New Category System "PRIME / OPEN / BASE"

With the introduction of the three-category system this season, you can aim for the national stage at the optimal level corresponding to your skill and achievements.

Three logos for each category (PRIME・OPEN・BASE)

■ PRIME (Top-tier Category) Teams with a track record of winning national dance contests, or top-ranking teams from OPEN preliminaries, are eligible to participate. Only the 1st place winners of each preliminary round and age division advance to the PRIME FINAL, offering the shortest route to the top.

■ OPEN (Challenge Category) This is the main category open to all, regardless of experience or achievements. It includes team divisions (offline/online) and solo divisions (online). Top placers in OFFLINE preliminaries also gain eligibility to compete in PRIME preliminaries, making it a stage for growth and challenge.

■ BASE (Development Category) This is a development category exclusively for unawarded teams and dancers. Both team and solo divisions are conducted through online preliminaries. It serves as an entry point for those new to dance contests, allowing them to participate with confidence.
