GRIFFY Inc., a company promoting digital transformation (DX) for construction sites, announced that it will launch a new rental solution for the construction industry, the 'Generative AI Site Surveillance System,' beginning July 1, 2026, in collaboration with IoT platform provider SORACOM Inc.
This system is an optimized solution developed by GRIFFY, a certified SPS technology partner, utilizing SORACOM's cloud-based camera service 'Soracame' and the generative AI-powered IoT automation service 'SORACOM Flux.' By integrating cloud cameras with the latest Large Language Models (LLMs), the system automates monitoring tasks such as checking for helmet usage or tracking material inventory levels—tasks previously reliant on human eyes—using only natural language prompts.
A live demonstration will be held at the GRIFFY booth during the 8th International Construction & Surveying Exhibition (CSPI2026), taking place at Makuhari Messe starting June 17.
Background of the launch Due to severe labor shortages in the construction industry, the need to reduce manpower in safety management and infrastructure monitoring is critical. However, conventional AI cameras often require per-use data preparation and individual tuning, leading to high training costs, long implementation times, and difficulty in meeting site-specific requirements.
GRIFFY addresses these challenges by fusing SORACOM’s advanced cloud services with its own on-site implementation expertise. It has conducted successful trials in the following areas: - Safety management: Detecting non-compliance with safety equipment (helmets, full-body harnesses, etc.) - Material management: Estimating inventory levels and recording changes - Vehicle management: Determining availability of parking spaces, measuring tunnel-entry vehicle length - Infrastructure inspection: Reading analog meters, monitoring snow accumulation/volcanic ash Following these successful trials, the company has decided to launch this as a commercial rental service, offering flexible plans based on project scale and requirements.
Key Features 1. Prompt-driven versatility without high training costs Users can analyze site footage simply by providing instructions in natural language. Detection criteria can be flexibly modified based on field environments and needs. 2. Reliability of 'Soracame' Ready to use with LTE connectivity and power. Features high-performance full HD, 120-degree wide-angle lenses, IP65-equivalent water/dust resistance, and stable operation in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. 3. 'Usable AI' supported by expert technicians Professional GRIFFY staff thoroughly support operations, including critical prompt configuration and optimal camera placement.
