Green Carbon Co., Ltd. (CEO: Jun Okita, hereinafter referred to as Green Carbon), which develops and sells nature-based carbon credits, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PT Pesisir Indah Lestari (hereinafter referred to as PT PIL), an NGO based in Indonesia, to promote mangrove restoration and climate change countermeasures. This agreement aims to reduce GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions through nature-based solutions by pooling expertise from both Japan and Indonesia.

◆ Main Objectives of the MOU Signing Based on this MOU, Green Carbon and PT PIL will promote research collaboration with the following objectives: ・Site Assessment: Identify candidate sites of over 1,000 hectares suitable for mangrove restoration through desktop and field surveys.
・Blue Carbon Accounting: Estimate the amount of carbon accumulated in biomass and sediment to accurately measure environmental impact.
・Sequestration Projection: Calculate the annual carbon sequestration potential over a period of up to 35 years.
・Community Engagement: Develop a comprehensive afforestation management plan prioritizing the development and participation of local communities.
◆ Future Outlook The five-year agreement resulting from this signing marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to environmental conservation and innovative carbon sequestration strategies.
