Kamogawa Sea World (Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture; Director: Hiroshi Katsumata), a core facility of Granvista Hotel & Resort Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yukio Arai), will hold special lectures by its keepers as commemorative events for "Keepers' Day" on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and "International Museum Day" on Monday, May 18.
"Keepers' Day" was established in 2009 by the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums, as April 19 can be read as "shi-iku" (breeding/keeping). Aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of zoos and aquariums, various events are planned at facilities across the country. To help visitors learn more about aquatic life, our aquarium will hold a special lecture titled "Caring for Aquatic Life."
Following this, "International Museum Day" in May was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to widely promote the role of museums to the public. In line with this, our aquarium will host a special lecture on "Conservation Activities for Endangered Species," focusing on the conservation work that is one of the roles of an aquarium.
Both special lectures are free for visitors with park admission (*1). The talks will be given by keepers who work with the animals daily, making this a great opportunity to deepen your interest in animal care, protection, and conservation. Please take advantage of this event.
*1: Separate park admission fee is required.
