Graffer Launches AI-Powered Food Specification Creation System 'Graffer Databridge' for Kokubu Nishinihon

Graffer Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Daichi Ishii), a company driving corporate transformation through generative AI, announced the launch of its AI-powered food specification creation system, 'Graffer Databridge,' for Kokubu Nishinihon Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Osaka).

Since 2025, Graffer has been working with Kokubu Group Corp. and Kokubu Nishinihon to conduct functional testing on using AI to read unstructured data, such as food specifications and product sheets, and convert them into formats required for business operations.

Graffer and the Kokubu Group have collaborated on generative AI initiatives previously. In 2024, Kokubu Group Corp. introduced the enterprise generative AI platform 'Graffer AI Studio' for its 4,500 employees. Graffer has provided comprehensive support, including selecting suitable tasks for AI, operational design, prompt engineering, and employee training.

The launch of 'Graffer Databridge' builds on this ongoing partnership, moving from general generative AI usage to the advancement of specific practical processes in the food wholesale industry.

In the food industry, diverse product information—such as specifications, quotes, and registration data—is exchanged daily between manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. This information is often managed in varying formats, including Excel, PDFs, and images, leading to significant labor costs for verification, transcription, and corrections.

In food wholesaling, staff must verify information from multiple manufacturers and reformat it to meet the requirements of retailers. With critical data points like JAN codes, ingredients, allergens, and nutritional facts, even simple transcription errors pose significant operational risks.

Through functional testing with the Kokubu Group, Graffer has developed a data conversion method tailored to the realities of the food industry, leading to this rollout.

'Graffer Databridge' is an AI-powered system that reads unstructured data from various sources, extracts and structures necessary items, and converts them into required formats. It helps bridge the gap between different input rules and formats used by manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, supporting output to designated formats or CSVs for core systems.

This allows staff to reduce time spent on manual transcription and focus on high-value tasks like content verification and coordination with business partners.
