Illuminated World Heritage Site 'Ephesus Ruins - Library of Celsus' On Sunday, August 2, 2026, a special event exclusively for Japanese tourists, 'Ephesus Japandi', will be held at the World Heritage site of Ephesus in Izmir Province, western Republic of Türkiye (hereafter, Türkiye). Ephesus, with a long history dating back to 6,000 BC, once prospered as a coastal city and reached its zenith during the ancient Roman era. Even today, magnificent ruins remain, and due to their overwhelming scale and excellent state of preservation, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015, continuing to fascinate people from all over the world. At 'Ephesus Japandi', this historical space will serve as a stage to fuse Türkiye's proud music and dance performances. In the ancient amphitheater where the summer night breeze blows, we offer a luxurious time to immerse yourself in music and dance while feeling the breath of history. The culture passed down over thousands of years and modern art will resonate, inviting visitors to a special experience that can be called 'once in a lifetime'. Fantastic 'Special Night Museum' Through special illuminations held only for a limited time during the summer, ruins such as the Library of Celsus, which represents the ancient city of Ephesus in Türkiye, will emerge fantastically. We offer a unique experience in the ancient ruins that are enveloped in a mystical atmosphere as night falls. 2. Türkiye's Proud Masterpiece Performances: Dance 'Hürrem' and Military Band 'Mehter' Set in the amphitheater (Great Theater) symbolizing the World Heritage site of Ephesus, a dance performance 'Hürrem' by the Hürrem Sultan Dance Theater, which boasts overwhelming popularity both in Türkiye and abroad, is scheduled to be performed. They will showcase a masterpiece performance themed on the story of Suleiman I of the Ottoman Empire and his consort Hürrem.
