Good Baton Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Masaki Sonoda) will change the name of its reservation service "Azukaruko-chan," which operates in the fields of childcare for sick children and postpartum care, to "Teote" from April 1, 2026 (Tuesday). Along with this, Azukaruko-chan Childcare for Sick Children will become Teote Childcare for Sick Children, and Azukaruko-chan Postpartum Care will become Teote Postpartum Care.

Background of the Name Change

Our company, Good Baton, aims to be a "baton" that appropriately and smoothly connects various people involved in "giving birth and raising children" to support. We released Azukaruko-chan, a reservation service for childcare for sick children, in 2020, and expanded the service to postpartum care in 2023. As we comprehensively support areas related to "giving birth," "raising children," and "growing up" even further in the future, we decided to unify the service names to more accurately embody the expansion of our services.

Meaning Behind the New Name "Teote"

The new service name "Teote" (pronounced "te-o-te") represents the tangible and intangible things passed between "giving hands" (Te) and "receiving hands" (Te), expressed by a gentle circle (O) in between. This familiar-sounding name, Teote, embodies our desire to be a bridge connecting those who provide support and those who receive it.

Teote Childcare for Sick Children is an online service that allows users to check availability and make reservations for childcare facilities for sick children, where children who are sick or recovering from illness and cannot attend kindergarten or school are cared for. Parents can search and reserve anytime via LINE or the web, and facility staff are freed from cumbersome administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on childcare. Additionally, adopting municipalities can centrally manage information on contracted childcare facilities for sick children in their region. Currently, it has been introduced in 396 facilities and 46 municipalities (44 cities/wards, 2 prefectures) nationwide, with 266,976 registered children and over 999,054 cumulative reservations.

Teote Postpartum Care is an online service that supports searching and reserving postpartum care facilities available to mothers after childbirth. It is not only easy for users to use, but also frees staff at postpartum care facilities from complicated administrative tasks, allowing them to concentrate on their core duties. Moreover, when the system is introduced at the municipal level, information on contracted postpartum care facilities in the region can be centrally managed. The service started last fiscal year and is currently expanding to 157 facilities and 8 municipalities (Itoigawa City, Ageo City, Yokosuka City, Hirakata City, Kobe City, Sapporo City, Akashi City, Matsumoto City).
