We hereby announce that the contract with head coach Dai Oketani has expired, and he will be stepping down from his position.
Mr. Oketani led the Kings to two league championships during his four-season tenure as head coach in the bj-league era (2008–2012). Since then, he has gained extensive experience leading other clubs, further refining his team management and game planning skills.
Upon his return as head coach in 2021, he led the team for five seasons, achieving numerous milestones, including the club's first B.League championship and the first-ever Emperor's Cup victory by a team from Okinawa Prefecture.
Starting in 2026, he will assume the role of head coach for the Japan men's national basketball team, placing him in a position to lead the Japanese basketball community more than ever before. The Kings are proud of his new challenge and fully support him.
