'I felt like I was the one who received courage': Seahorses Mikawa's Seiji Nagano visits pediatric ward at Anjo Kosei Hospital, warmly interacts with children

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Seahorses Mikawa visited the pediatric ward at JA Aichi Koseiren Anjo Kosei Hospital as part of 'B.Hope X YELL,' a social contribution activity aimed at supporting children with intractable diseases.

### Background In Japan, approximately 250,000 children suffer from pediatric cancer or intractable diseases, with about 20,000 requiring daily medical care. Long-term hospitalization can lead to a weakened connection with society, causing children and their families to feel isolated and anxious. This project aims to create opportunities for interaction through the power of sports, bringing smiles and hope to these children.

### Event Overview - Date: Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - Location: Pediatric Medical Center, JA Aichi Koseiren Anjo Kosei Hospital - Participants: - #7 Seiji Nagano - Super Girls (MISA, HIBIYU)

### Event Highlights The event began with a dance performance by the Super Girls. The vibrant performance drew cheers of 'Amazing!' from the participants, instantly brightening the atmosphere. Next, when Seiji Nagano appeared while dribbling, exclamations of 'He's so good!' were heard, heightening the children's anticipation.

During the shooting experience, children energetically attempted shots, filling the venue with smiles. A particularly heartwarming moment occurred when Nagano received a ball from a 5-month-old baby and made a shot, spreading smiles and warmth throughout the room.

The event proceeded in a consistently friendly atmosphere, deepening the interaction between the player, cheerleaders, children, families, and medical staff. Room visits also allowed for one-on-one interaction, bringing many more smiles.

The hospitalized children were smiling the entire time and had a wonderful experience. We are also deeply grateful for your consideration in visiting the rooms of children who could not join the main event, speaking warmly to each one. Through this interaction, we believe the children received much joy, energy, and the strength to keep fighting. Thank you for providing such a heartwarming time.

### Comment from #7 Seiji Nagano During this visit, seeing children around the same age as my own living their lives so earnestly gave me a lot to think about as a parent.

However, upon interacting with them, they were all so energetic and cheerful that I felt like I was the one who received courage.

This experience was a significant learning opportunity for me and a valuable time for personal growth.

I hope to continue being involved in activities that can help children, even in a small way.

About B.Hope X YELL 'B.Hope X YELL' is a project led by B.LEAGUE clubs to provide continuous support to children battling intractable diseases and their families. Through hospital visits and game invitations, the initiative creates connections with society and aims to deliver hope to children.

Since the 2022-23 season, Seahorses Mikawa has been running an SDGs project named 'Be With.' To contribute to the achievement of the universally shared Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the team is promoting various initiatives in addition to its existing social contribution activities.
