Seahorses Mikawa: 314.4kg of Food Donated to the Community; Report on Joint Food Drive with Nippon Life Insurance

Thank you for your continued support of Seahorses Mikawa.

During the game against the Toyama Grouses held at Sky Hall Toyota on Sunday, March 8, we conducted a "B.LEAGUE Hope x Nippon Life Insurance: Energizing the Community! Basketball ACTION" food drive in partnership with the Kariya Branch of Nippon Life Insurance, collecting 314.4kg of food items.

The food items provided by everyone will be donated to children's cafeterias and families in need through "Food Bank Aichi" and the "Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council," which operate primarily in Aichi Prefecture.

We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation with the Seahorses Mikawa sustainability project, "Be With."

What is a Food Drive?

A food drive is an activity that collects surplus food from households and donates it to local organizations supporting those in need, children's cafeterias, welfare facilities, and others who require food assistance.

These initiatives are being carried out across the country as a measure to address poverty and reduce food loss.

Food Loss: Food that is still edible but is discarded.

Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council

We, the Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council, are engaged in activities to deliver food and daily necessities donated or supported by companies and individual supporters to those in need, including single-parent families, young children, those in financial distress, disaster victims, and foreign residents.

Furthermore, as part of our support for revitalizing the Nishimikawa regional community, we aim to be deeply rooted in the region by addressing social issues through event activities, including social reintegration for those unable to participate in society due to school non-attendance or other factors, and providing learning support to create places for children.

Food Bank Aichi

We connect food and daily necessities donated by companies and individuals to support organizations that can deliver them to those in need. We aim to create a society where "no one is left behind" by expanding connections between companies and individuals who wish to support us and the organizations that assist those in need.

"Be With" Seahorses Mikawa Sustainability Project

Seahorses Mikawa launched an SDGs project named "Be With" starting in the 2022-23 season. To contribute to the achievement of the global "SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)," we will promote various initiatives in addition to the social contribution activities we have conducted to date.
