Globiz Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hyuk Jung), which distributes the walking assist robot 'WIM S' in Japan, is pleased to announce that the product's manufacturer, WIRobotics (Headquarters: South Korea), has been selected as a member of the second cohort of the 'Physical AI Fellowship,' a startup support program led by Amazon Web Services (AWS), NVIDIA Inception, and MassRobotics. The main battlefield for generative AI is shifting from digital spaces like chat and image generation to machines that move in the real world, such as robots, drones, and wearables. AWS defines Physical AI as a technology domain where hardware and software work together to perceive, understand, reason, learn, and interact with the physical world. This selection confirms WIRobotics' overwhelming advantage in three areas: being one of only nine companies selected globally and the only humanoid company; receiving full support from AI leaders like Amazon and NVIDIA; and integrating cutting-edge Physical AI into the 'WIM S' wearable robot. 'WIM S' is a lightweight (approx. 1.6kg) wearable robot that uses AI to analyze walking patterns in real-time, providing assistance for rehabilitation, daily walks, and active movement. CEO Hyuk Jung expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing the company's commitment to bringing world-class technology to Japan to support health and mobility.
