(Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Jeong Hyeok), which distributes the walking assistance robot "WIM S" in Japan, announces that WIRobotics (Headquarters: Korea), the manufacturer of the product, has been selected as a second-phase member of the "Physical AI Fellowship," a startup support program led by Amazon Web Services (AWS), NVIDIA Inception, and MassRobotics. This selection signifies the recognition of WIRobotics' world-class AI and robotics technology.

The main battleground for generative AI is now expanding from digital spaces like chat and image generation to machines operating in the real world, such as robots, drones, and wearables. AWS defines Physical AI as a technological domain where hardware and software integrate to perceive, understand, infer, learn, and interact with the physical world.

This trend has already become a policy theme in Japan, with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry launching the "AI Robotics Strategy Meeting" in January 2026. Furthermore, the Reiwa 6th fiscal year supplementary budget includes 22 billion yen for "AI Foundation Model Development (Robotics)," promoting support for social implementation.
