YOSHIKI Announced as Headliner for 'Global Citizen Live: Tokyo'

Global Citizen, the organization behind the world's largest movement to end extreme poverty (headquartered in New York, USA), has announced that YOSHIKI will be the headliner for 'Global Citizen Live: Tokyo,' the first music event of its kind in Japan, to be held at Tokyo International Forum on June 18, 2026. Joining previously announced performers &TEAM, AI, and Yuki Chiba, YOSHIKI will help amplify the global movement to end poverty. Chris Peppler will serve as MC.

Final tickets for 'Global Citizen Live: Tokyo' go on sale starting Saturday, May 30, via eplus, Ticket Pia, and Lawson Ticket. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise 16 billion yen by the 2026 FIFA World Cup to provide quality education to at least 100,000 children in over 150 countries, including Japan. The fund will award grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 to 27 organizations across 10 countries to expand opportunities for children in areas with limited access to quality education and sports. UBUNTU FS Promotion and SDGs Promise Japan have been selected from Japan.

UBUNTU FS Promotion, based in Kitakyushu, is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting vibrant, sustainable regional development that leaves no one behind through the power of sports, culture, and social participation. SDGs Promise Japan is a Tokyo-based non-profit working on sustainable development and poverty reduction in regions in need, such as Africa. They support activities by incorporating education, economic independence support, and capacity building into community-led initiatives.

Furthermore, by taking action on the Global Citizen app to end extreme poverty, users can enter a lottery to win free tickets for 'Global Citizen Live: Tokyo.' Nearly 5 million children die before their 5th birthday every year from preventable and treatable diseases. YOSHIKI is a world-renowned Japanese rock star, composer, classically-trained pianist, and rock drummer, and leader of the bands X JAPAN and THE LAST ROCKSTARS.
