JCB and Discover Network Mark 20th Anniversary of Partnership

JCB Co., Ltd., Japan’s only international card brand operator, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo and led by Chairman and President & CEO Takayoshi Futae, and Discover® Network, headquartered in Riverwoods, Illinois and led by President Jason Hanson, have marked the 20th anniversary of their partnership. Since 2006, JCB and Discover Network have maintained a reciprocal card acceptance partnership. Discover cardholders can use their cards at JCB merchants and other locations in Japan, while JCB cardholders can use their cards at Discover Network merchants and other locations in the United States. As the payments industry has continued to evolve rapidly, this partnership has contributed to the development and growth of both companies. As they reach this milestone, JCB and Discover Network will advance focused initiatives to further improve interoperability, efficiency, and consistency between the two networks. As part of their strengthened collaboration, the companies will explore opportunities to streamline processes and simplify operations, aiming to create an environment in which existing and future partners worldwide can deliver secure, reliable, and seamless payment experiences more smoothly and quickly. JCB and Discover Network will also continue working to create long-term value for stakeholders and the communities they serve.
