## Fujitsu Provides Core Business System for Real-time Management of Maritime Self-Defense Force Logistics

Fujitsu has developed and implemented a core business system that allows for real-time management of all logistics information—including parts supply, ammunition, pharmaceuticals, and food—required for the operations and maintenance of assets used by approximately 45,000 personnel of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). The system was provided in May 2026.

By centralizing data on the vast array of items handled by the JMSDF, the system enables real-time visualization of all logistics information. This facilitates the planning of procurement, maintenance, and replenishment, improves overall operational efficiency through data-driven supply and demand forecasting, and enables faster decision-making, thereby contributing to the strengthening of Japan's defense and sustained combat capabilities.

### Overview

Given the recent international situation and ongoing discussions regarding the revision of Japan's fundamental foreign and security policies (as outlined in the three security-related documents), the environment surrounding the JMSDF is changing rapidly. Strengthening sustained combat capability in contingencies is expected to become increasingly important. Under these circumstances, the missions of the JMSDF are becoming more complex and diversified, requiring a sustainable system capable of responding immediately to any situation with limited resources. In response to the JMSDF's goal of transforming into a data-driven organization for rapid and optimal decision-making, Fujitsu has built and deployed this core business system.

With this system, the JMSDF can centrally manage various logistics information, such as parts, ammunition, pharmaceuticals, and food across naval vessels, bases, and supply hubs nationwide. This allows commanders to grasp information necessary for mission execution in real-time and efficiently, enabling rapid decision-making.

This system is based on SAP's ERP solution, "S/4HANA®," and utilizes the "Defense & Security solution," which has a track record of use in dozens of countries. As this is the first introduction of an SAP ERP solution in a central government agency, Fujitsu has utilized the practical knowledge gained from its company-wide ERP renewal project to support the smooth construction and operation of this system, which manages an enormous volume of logistics data.

Fujitsu will continue to promote the stable operation and continuous functional improvement of this system, contributing to Japan's security by supporting the refinement of supply and demand forecasting for logistics handled by the JMSDF.
