Canon Launches Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera “EOS R6 V” and Standard Zoom Lens “RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ” with Built-in Power Zoom for SNS Era Video Creators

Canon will launch the "EOS R6 V," the first full-frame sensor camera in the "EOS/PowerShot V series" designed to meet diversifying video production needs, and the "RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ," a standard zoom lens with a built-in power zoom—the first for a full-frame compatible RF lens—in late June 2026.

The full-frame mirrorless camera "EOS R6 V," which further expands the "EOS/PowerShot V series" lineup, responds to the needs of creators who seek serious video production, offering high video performance, an internal cooling fan, a flat body, and vertical shooting support. When combined with the "RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ," the first full-frame compatible RF lens with a built-in power zoom, it achieves both excellent mobility and high-quality video expression, supporting video shooting.

## High Video Performance to Expand Creators' Range of Expression

Equipped with a full-frame CMOS sensor with approximately 32.5 million effective pixels (*1) and the "DIGIC X" image processor, it enables rich video expression such as 4K60P video recording via oversampling. It also supports 4K120P high frame rate recording with a full horizontal angle of view without cropping the sensor width, and features a 7K open gate recording function (*3) [RAW/MP4 (*4)] that utilizes the entire sensor (*2) with a 3:2 aspect ratio, allowing recording with a wide angle of view equivalent to still photography, contributing to improved video quality. Furthermore, the inclusion of Canon Log 2, which offers rich tonal expression in dark areas, enables a wide dynamic range of up to 15+ stops (*5).

## Operability and Reliability as a Camera Supporting Creativity

Specifications are designed with long-duration shooting and live streaming in mind, such as reducing the impact on shooting time due to temperature rise with an internal cooling fan. It also adopts a flat, linear body design that is easy to integrate with peripheral equipment such as cages and gimbals. In addition, it is equipped with a tripod screw hole for vertical shooting to enable smooth vertical video shooting, and the UI automatically switches to vertical display (*6). Furthermore, it features a zoom lever that allows selection of two speeds, high and low, for smooth zooming.

## "RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ" - The First Full-Frame Compatible RF Lens with Built-in Power Zoom

It employs a new method that allows both power zoom and manual zoom to be operated with a single zoom ring, enabling seamless switching between zoom operations for still and video shooting. It also adopts a variable speed zoom according to the rotation angle of the zoom ring, allowing the lower limit of the slow speed and the upper limit of the high speed level to be set in 15 steps each (*7). It covers focal lengths from wide-angle 20mm to standard 50mm, and the fixed overall length design, where the lens length does not change even when zooming, suppresses changes in the center of gravity. Furthermore, by fixing the aperture at F4 throughout the zoom range, it contributes to stable video expression without changes in brightness.
