Brother Holds Presentation Ceremony for 'Healthy' Video at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens

Brother Industries, Ltd. has produced and presented a video titled 'Healthy' to the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, aimed at widely communicating the zoo's commitment to animal welfare. A presentation ceremony was held on March 27 in front of the zoo's 'KOALA FOREST.' The video is scheduled to be broadcast on terrestrial television and will also be screened at the 'KOALA FOREST' learning facility and rest areas within the zoo.

The 'Healthy' video conveys the zoo's efforts to realize living environments close to those in the wild, highlighting their dedication to animal welfare-focused husbandry and facility development.

On March 27, in addition to the video, a presentation ceremony was held in front of the KOALA FOREST for the fence decorations themed 'Strong Animals of Asia,' which were donated on February 12. Eiichi Yamada, Director of the Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, expressed his gratitude to Brother for the donations.

Since donating the construction costs for the koala enclosure when the first koalas arrived in Japan at Higashiyama Zoo in 1984, Brother has provided long-term support, including the donation of an outdoor koala exercise deck, the creation of the 'KOALA FOREST' learning and exhibition facility, and cooperation with naming ceremonies for koalas and Asian elephants. In June 2021, Brother signed an official public relations partnership agreement with the zoo, collaborating on awareness activities regarding 'species conservation' and 'environmental education.' Furthermore, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the koalas' arrival in 2024, Brother produced and donated a documentary video titled 'The 40-Year Trajectory of Koalas,' which covers the zoo's efforts over the past four decades and the endangered status of koalas.
