Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd. has been operating "SUNAO Delivery," a delivery-style corporate cafeteria that supports employee health through lunch, in Osaka since August 2022. This service will be gradually expanded to the Tokyo metropolitan area starting in April 2026. The service will first launch in the Marunouchi area on April 20, 2026, with subsequent expansions planned for areas such as Shinagawa, Shinjuku, and Roppongi from May onwards. Through this service, we aim to support the health of office workers and contribute to companies' health management and the improvement of employee engagement (motivation to work and satisfaction with the company).

■ Challenges faced by companies and office workers

Recently, there has been a growing focus on "health management," which views employee health as a management issue. According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the number of companies applying for the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization recognition program has already reached approximately 20,000, making health investment an essential initiative for human capital management.

Furthermore, due to the recent rapid rise in prices, the environment surrounding "lunch," which office workers face daily, has significantly changed. In central Tokyo, lunch prices have shifted to the 1,200-1,500 yen range, and there is a growing tendency to prioritize price over nutritional balance when making choices. As a policy to address this inflation, the "Outline of Tax System Reform for Reiwa 8 (2026)" decided by the government on December 26, 2025, specifies an increase in the tax-exempt limit for meal allowances provided by companies from the current 3,500 yen per month to 7,500 yen, which is expected to be revised for the first time in 42 years since 1984*1. Companies can utilize this tax reform to improve employees' disposable income and manage employee benefits. *1 This is not a formal decision until the National Tax Agency issues a notification.
