New OVA theatrical screening decided! Teaser visual & super special news video released, comments from new staff also arrived!

We are pleased to announce that the new OVA "Magical Princess Minky Momo: Sincere Duet for Dreams" will be screened in theaters. In addition, the teaser visual and super special news video have been released, and comments from the new staff have arrived.

This work is a special theatrical screening version of a completely new OVA produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ashi Production's founding.

Since its broadcast began in 1982, "Magical Princess Minky Momo" has captivated many anime fans with its original script that overturned the common sense of magical girl anime and its high-quality animation, establishing a solid position as a fantasy work that adults can enjoy. It led the magical girl boom of the time, and in 1991, the new series "Magical Princess Minky Momo: Embrace Your Dreams" was broadcast. Since then, numerous OVA works have been released, and it continues to receive strong support across generations.

Ahead of the theatrical screening, the first season will begin airing on BS NTV from Saturday, April 4th, at 24:30. Through the rebroadcast from spring, Minky Momo will once again deliver dreams and hope, further building anticipation for the new release.

To commemorate this theatrical screening, comments have also arrived from the director of the new work, Ayumi Watanabe; the main animator from the original broadcast who is in charge of character design for the new work, Hiroshi Watanabe; animator Mari Tominaga, who has worked on numerous popular anime works; and popular scriptwriter Deco Akaso, known for his wide range of styles.

The teaser visual released this time is an homage to the old design where Momo rides on a crescent moon with her companions, familiar from the past series. While retaining its original cuteness, it brings out the charm of the new Momo with sparkling bright colors adapted to the modern digital society.

For fans who chased dreams with Momo in the past, we deliver the joy of reunion with "It's been a while!", and for the new generation who will meet Momo for the first time, we deliver the beginning of magic with "Nice to meet you!"
