Since its broadcast began in 1982, "Magical Princess Minky Momo" has captivated many anime fans with its original script that overturned the conventions of magical girl anime and its high-quality animation, establishing a solid position as a fantasy work that adults can also enjoy. It led the magical girl boom of its time, and in 1991, a new series, "Magical Princess Minky Momo: Embrace the Dream," was broadcast. Since then, numerous OVA works have been released, gathering strong support across generations.
Prior to the theatrical release, the first series will begin broadcasting on BS NTV from 24:30 on Saturday, April 4th. Through this spring rebroadcast, Minky Momo will once again deliver dreams and hope, further building excitement for the new release.
To commemorate this theatrical release, comments have also arrived from the new director, Ayumu Watanabe; the main animator from the original broadcast who is handling the new character designs, Hiroshi Watanabe; animator Mari Tominaga, who has worked on numerous popular anime titles; and popular screenwriter Deko Akao, known for her wide range of styles.
