Overview of 'Cocodayo Life'

'Cocodayo Life' is a multilingual smartphone app that consolidates disaster prevention, crime prevention, and monitoring functions previously spread across separate tools. It provides real-time notifications for disaster and crime information and enables daily monitoring through location sharing. The iOS version also includes a biometric information sharing feature (such as movement paths and health data). Designed with privacy in mind, it ensures information is delivered only when necessary, seamlessly supporting daily life and emergency situations.

Background of Development

In recent years, while the risk of natural disasters like earthquakes and heavy rain has increased, daily concerns regarding the monitoring of the elderly and the safety of school routes have also grown. Previously, separate apps for 'disaster prevention,' 'monitoring,' and 'crime prevention' created a fragmented information landscape during emergencies. Leveraging our proprietary patented technology and the expertise gained from our disaster location-sharing app 'Cocodayo' (1.9 million downloads as of January 2026), we developed 'Cocodayo Life' to support both everyday life and emergency situations.

Based on the concept of 'Protecting the everyday, preparing for the unexpected,' 'Cocodayo Life' covers disaster prevention, crime prevention, and monitoring through four main menus: 'Connect,' 'Prepare,' 'Protect,' and 'Go Out,' with full multilingual support.

Disaster Prevention

Automatically shares location information upon receiving an Earthquake Early Warning to enable quick situational awareness. It provides real-time notifications for earthquakes, tsunamis, and heavy rain. Hazard maps, evacuation center information, local danger alerts, and weather information are managed centrally within the app.

Crime Prevention

Notifies users of local danger information (such as bear/animal sightings or suspicious individuals). It also includes a security buzzer and emergency notification function to ensure safety while commuting or out and about.

Monitoring

In addition to location sharing, the iOS version includes a feature to share biometric data (health information such as movement paths). It can be used to monitor elderly family members living apart or to check the location of children during their commute.

Multilingual Support

Supports Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese. The app language can be switched via the settings menu.
