Geekplus Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director CEO: Yamato Kato) announced that it began providing e-commerce logistics operational support through its fulfillment service to Stride Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director President: Takashi Fukuchi), a running and outdoor shoe brand, starting October 2025.

This support leverages cutting-edge automation technology and supply chain optimization to improve operational efficiency and foster sustainable corporate growth through logistics.

Background of the Support

Stride Co., Ltd. operates with the purpose of "Making every step healthy," running 16 specialty stores nationwide for running and outdoor activities called "STRIDE LAB." The company also handles agency business for domestic and international running and sports brands, as well as operating its own brands. Furthermore, it focuses on initiatives to widely popularize the joy of running as a lifelong sport through events and community activities. Stride aims to expand "STRIDE LAB" to 100 stores nationwide within the next 5-10 years and established a U.S. subsidiary in Denver, Colorado, in March this year, accelerating its business development both domestically and internationally.

In recent years, the logistics industry has faced severe labor shortages, coupled with increasing logistics burdens, especially in warehouses, due to expanding e-commerce demand and increased shipping volumes during peak seasons. Stride also needed to establish a system for operational efficiency and data visualization as its e-commerce business expanded. To further expand its business and enhance customer experience, the company was working on implementing weekend shipping and improving operations to maximize sales opportunities. Given this background, there was a need to select a partner who could transition to an e-commerce-specific logistics system and achieve operational efficiency. Geekplus was chosen for this support due to its accumulated operational know-how and flexible operational system, cultivated through e-commerce logistics support in various industries.

Future Developments

Going forward, in addition to the current B2C e-commerce logistics support, the scope of support will be expanded to include B2B shipments to outdoor specialty stores and sports retailers. Furthermore, with an eye on overseas expansion, cross-border e-commerce and international shipments will be gradually supported. Moreover, by utilizing the supply chain data utilization cloud "skylaa," Geekplus will promote the sophistication of the supply chain through demand forecasting and inventory optimization, thereby achieving further efficiency and stable operation of e-commerce logistics, improving logistics efficiency, and enhancing customer experience. Geekplus will continue to accompany Stride as a logistics partner supporting its business growth.

From Mr. Ryotaro Ogawa, Head of EC Division, Stride Co., Ltd.

STRIDE originally expanded its business primarily through B2B operations, and the logistics centers we had used were specialized for B2B business. As a result, it was often difficult to optimize operations for the rapidly growing B2C e-commerce business. We urgently needed to implement operations such as 7-day-a-week shipping, including weekends and holidays, and same-day shipping, which were market demands but had not been realized.

It was at this point that Geekplus approached us. Thanks to their overwhelming operational capabilities, as well as the flexibility of their supply chain data utilization cloud "skylaa," which bridges with our WMS while maintaining the specifications and operations of our existing OMS, we were able to significantly streamline business operations, not only reducing delivery lead times but also cutting down on frequent adjustment tasks and manual data sharing within the company.

Currently, only our relatively simple consumer e-commerce business has been transferred to Geekplus's LaaS center. However, with their reliable logistics capabilities and the concept of skylaa, we now have a wide range of management options within reach, such as integrated operation of future B2B logistics centers, endless aisle initiatives at our directly managed stores, and multi-location expansion aiming for on-time delivery across Japan. We strongly feel that Geekplus is not merely providing logistics services but is genuinely committed to our business needs and accompanying us. We look forward to collaborating with them as a powerful booster for implementing the sudden "we want to do this, we want to do that" ideas that emerge from various parts of our company.

From Ryota Maruyama, Head of Fulfillment Business Division, Geekplus Co., Ltd.

We are deeply honored to accompany Stride, a company that continues to spread the joy of lifelong sports in Japan and around the world, as their logistics partner. In this initiative, we aim to realize an infrastructure that flexibly and robustly supports store expansion and global development from a logistics perspective, by improving operational efficiency and delivery speed through automation technology and data utilization. This will allow us to keep pace with Stride's business speed and deliver a better customer experience to their end-users. Geekplus will continue to accompany Stride's business growth and contribute to the realization of their purpose, "Making every step healthy," from a logistics perspective.
