Why Not Stop Making Tourism Apps? A Seminar on Utilizing 'Spot AI (ToyTalk)' to Solve Tourism and Regional Issues

■ Two Successful Sessions Concluded

Following the initial session on Wednesday, May 27, this seminar was rebroadcast with the same content on Wednesday, June 10, due to its popularity. Both sessions were attended by many officials from local governments, tourism associations, and DMOs. In a post-event survey, the vast majority of participants rated the seminar as 'helpful' or 'very helpful'.

We received feedback such as:

- Gained an understanding of common challenges and sentiments regarding tourism DX nationwide, allowing for an objective reassessment of their own region's situation.
- Deeply resonated with the structural vicious cycle of 'no time, no budget, no staff' on the front lines.
- Attracted by the ease of introduction with low budget, short period, and no app required, and want to try it first.
- Could concretely envision usage scenarios after seeing a live demonstration from creating a Spot AI to its actual operation.
- Immediately thought of use cases within their own organizations, such as tourist information center counter services, staffing shortages during peak seasons, multilingual support for inbound tourists, and Q&A handling during events.
- Felt it could be immediately useful for routine tasks with many inquiries and wanted to share it with relevant departments.

Based on this feedback, we decided to hold the rebroadcast to deliver the same content to those who could not attend the first session.

■ Background of the Event

According to the 'City Promotion and Tourism DX Fact-Finding Survey' conducted by GDX in July 2025, approximately 49.0% of officials in local governments and tourism associations are responsible for promoting tourism DX while concurrently handling other duties. Furthermore, the majority of tourism DX-related budgets are 'under 5 million yen', highlighting the severe constraints on both human resources and budgets on the front lines.

For these front-line organizations, conventional AI systems that take months to build and cost millions of yen, or tourism apps that require continuous updates and maintenance after release, are frankly a mismatch. There are many reports of systems that 'were introduced but are no longer used' or 'only left behind operational burdens'.

This seminar directly introduces the utilization methods of 'ToyTalk', a Spot AI platform gaining attention as a new option to bridge the 'gap between the front line and conventional DX', presented by its developer and provider, Bridgewell Inc.

■ This seminar is recommended for officials in local governments, tourism associations, and DMOs facing the following challenges:

- Created a tourism app but are burdened by the heavy costs of updates and operations.
- Want to streamline tourist information and Q&A handling during events but have limited budgets.
- Considering AI implementation but find investments spanning months and millions of yen unrealistic.
- Want to easily utilize AI for time-limited events or campaigns.
- Want to improve the quality of tourist services with limited staff.

After handling materials such as electronic components at a specialized material trading company, he became independent. He founded Bridgewell Inc. by developing products utilizing photoluminescent pigments. Subsequently, he launched a 'diaper subscription' business for public nursery schools, achieving adoption by approximately 70 local governments in just three years. Currently, he leverages this local government network and problem-solving expertise to develop the Spot AI platform 'ToyTalk'.
