GC Corporation, a comprehensive dental healthcare manufacturer based in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, held a commemorative tree planting and monument unveiling ceremony at the Fuji Oyama Plant in Oyama-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Monday, May 18, 2026, as part of the facility's 50th anniversary celebrations.

The Fuji Oyama Plant was built in 1976, driven by the founder's vision of creating a 'forest factory with a view of Mt. Fuji.' Over the past half-century, it has supplied numerous dental materials and mechanical products both within Japan and globally. Today, the facility has gained significant recognition in the international market, achieving a world-class market share in several fields.

The planting of the symbol tree and the erection of the monument are intended to express gratitude to the local community and other stakeholders who have supported the plant, as well as to preserve the history and pride of the company's contribution to oral healthcare globally, demonstrating the commitment to pass this vision on to the future.

■ New Symbol Tree: Weeping Cherry Tree
The Weeping Cherry Tree (Shidarezakura) was chosen with the hope that, as it grows over many years and blooms beautifully, it will become a symbol beloved by the local community and a bridge between generations. Its supple yet strong appearance reflects the company's commitment to harmony with the environment and achieving sustainable growth while flexibly adapting to changing times.

■ 50th Anniversary Monument Engraved with Company Philosophy 'Semui'
For the 50th anniversary monument, the company used Soshu Hon-Komatsu Stone, long known as a prestigious building stone. The natural Mt. Fuji-shaped rock is engraved with the company's philosophy, 'Semui' (acting from the perspective of others), symbolizing the spirit inherited since the company's founding to contribute to society by creating products that provide peace of mind and trust.

Under 'Vision 2031,' GC aims to be 'the leading dental company realizing a society of health and longevity.' Toward this goal, the Fuji Oyama Plant will continue to create new value as a 'mother factory' that balances consideration for the local community and the environment.

Since its establishment in 1976, the plant has produced materials and equipment necessary for dental care. Five factories are currently operating on the site, and products are sold in over 145 countries worldwide, supporting oral health for people globally.

The plant is actively engaged in environmental conservation. It has received several awards under the Green Factory Award system administered by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, including the 'Japan Greening Center Chairman's Award' in 2008, the 'Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Director's Award' in 2016, and the 'Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award' in 2020. The 5th Factory, completed in 2025, was constructed with a focus on sustainable architecture utilizing renewable energy and has acquired ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) certification.
