Saitama Prefecture's First! Senior-Led "Neighborhood Diner" Opens in Fujimi City, "Mizuhodai Machinaka Shokudo by Geeber FOOD" Opens July 1st!

Geeber Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tomiya City, Miyagi Prefecture, President: Kenta Nagano, hereinafter Geeber) is promoting its "Geeber FOOD" initiative nationwide, aiming to expand to 1,889 municipalities, where seniors play an active role as food creators.

We are pleased to announce the opening of "Mizuhodai Machinaka Shokudo by Geeber FOOD" in Mizuhodai, Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture, on July 1st (Wed), as our first partnership store in Saitama Prefecture.

The partner company is Saegusa Dental Clinic (Location: 1-9-29 Higashi Mizuhodai, Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture, Director: Daisuke Saegusa), a dental clinic rooted in Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture. With the philosophy of "A dental clinic where the whole family can smile," they offer a wide range of services including preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, dentistry for people with disabilities, and oral function therapy, and are a community-based clinic equipped with barrier-free facilities. At the diner, local senior members will welcome customers with "one soup, one dish" set meals, reminiscent of home cooking, featuring onigiri (rice balls) lovingly made to order and heartwarming tonjiru (pork miso soup).

Geeber will expand its "sustainable operational model that balances reproducibility and profitability," cultivated through "Geeber FOOD" which began in Miyagi Prefecture, in collaboration with "community-minded" partner companies across the country. We aim to transmit a new form of community development from Hokkaido to the world, in an era of super-aging population, and to realize a society where each senior can be the protagonist.

What is "Geeber FOOD"

"Geeber FOOD" is a business where seniors become food creators, bringing heartwarming and rich dining experiences to the community. Since its launch in November 2022, a total of 351 seniors have participated. The culmination of this operational know-how is the diner "Machinaka Shokudo by Geeber FOOD," which opened in Tomiya City, Miyagi Prefecture, in October 2024. This "Machinaka Shokudo" has been well-received in the community for its "warmth like that of home," and Geeber is intensifying its efforts to expand this "Machinaka Shokudo model" to 1,889 municipalities nationwide starting in March 2025.
