Japanese favorite Takuma Sato will once again participate in this historic Indy 500 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL). This will be Takuma Sato's 17th appearance. Prior to the Indy 500, a "Joint Test (Open Test)" will be held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on April 28 (Tuesday) and April 29 (Wednesday, Holiday). All teams and drivers entered in the Indy 500 will gather to conduct joint practice on the same course as the main event. Based on these results, each team and driver will make adjustments for the main race.
