From April 1, 2026 (Wed) 20:00 to April 13, 2026 (Mon) 20:00, the special event 'Nuclear Thunder' will be held for a limited time. Utilizing new strategic bombers and anti-radar missiles, this mission involves breaking through short-to-medium range air defense systems such as the 'ZSU-23-4 Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft gun', 'Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun', and surface-to-air missiles like the '9K37 Buk' and 'Hawk', as well as long-range air defense systems composed of 'Patriot' and 'S-300', to conduct strategic bombing on enemy key facilities.

For every 7,700 mission points earned in in-game event battles, a stage will be unlocked, and various rewards will be given based on the number of unlocked stages. Ultimately, players can obtain the iconic strategic bombers B-52H (USA) and Tu-95M (Soviet Union).

Even if you haven't researched up to jet aircraft, you can deploy with pre-prepared preset aircraft, so anyone can participate. If you cannot meet the conditions in time, you can also purchase tasks (skip) with the in-game premium currency Golden Eagles, so please be careful not to miss out on the limited rewards that can only be obtained during the event.

● Introduction to Some New Weaponry

First, the B-52H from the USA, known as 'Stratofortress' (Fortress of the Stratosphere), is a strategic bomber developed by Boeing during the Cold War for nuclear attacks on the Soviet Union. Initially designed as a subsonic aircraft with long-range capability for nuclear payloads, it was later modified to carry conventional free-fall bombs. It remains a vital part of the U.S. Air Force's strategic bomber force.

'War Thunder' features the final production model, which is the largest aircraft in the game with 8 engines, equipped with P&W TF33 turbofan engines (replacing the original P&W J57 turbojets) and a modified tail gun with an M61 20mm Vulcan cannon.

Next, the Tu-95M from the Soviet Union, codenamed 'Bear' by NATO, is a strategic bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau, an evolution of the Tu-4, which was a copy of the American B-29 Superfortress. With swept wings and tail surfaces, and distinctive flight sounds due to the low rotation speed of its powerful turboprop engines and contra-rotating propellers, it can achieve high speeds (maximum speed 950 km/h), making it the fastest propeller-driven aircraft in the world.

'War Thunder' implements the FAB-9000 M54, a bomb with a class of approximately 9,000 kg, and features the initial production model capable of carrying conventional free-fall bombs, lacking the distinctive nose radar dome.

Furthermore, ARM (Anti-Radiation Missile) is a missile that detects radar waves from sources like enemy radar sites and homes in on the radiating source. It is useful for eliminating threats from anti-aircraft self-propelled guns and surface-to-air missile systems.

'War Thunder' introduces the American anti-radiation missile 'AGM-88A HARM' and the Soviet anti-radiation missiles 'Kh-58U' and 'Kh-25MPU'.
