Fukushima Galilei Releases Ice Storage Water Chillers Using Low-Environmental-Impact Refrigerants

Fukushima Galilei Co., Ltd. is launching two new models of ice storage water chillers that utilize next-generation refrigerants with low environmental impact.

The compact "SWR-250-PX" model adopts the non-fluorocarbon refrigerant "R1234yf" (with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 1), while the large-capacity "SWE-1000TA-PB2" model utilizes the low-GWP refrigerant "R448A."

- Eco-friendly next-generation refrigerants:
- SWR-250-PX: Uses the extremely low-GWP non-fluorocarbon refrigerant R1234yf (GWP: 1). Being exempt from the Fluorocarbon Emission Control Act, it requires no periodic inspections or record-keeping, reducing the burden on customers.
- SWE-1000TA-PB2: Uses R448A, which reduces GWP by approximately 65% compared to the conventional refrigerant (R404A).
- Energy efficiency and stable supply through ice storage: The system stores ice during off-peak hours and uses it during peak periods to efficiently produce cold water. This allows for stable supply of large volumes of cold water as needed while contributing to energy saving.
- Direct-tap connection: Enables continuous use of fresh, hygienic cold water. Installation is simple, and the system offers high operational flexibility, including the ability to supply cold water at the same temperature even with multiple faucets.

[Primary Targets]
- SWR-250-PX (Compact): Noodle shops (ramen, soba, udon) for "cooling" noodles; drinking water for restaurants and office service counters.
- SWE-1000TA-PB2 (Large-capacity): Supermarkets for cooling/cleaning fresh fish and vegetables; sites requiring large volumes of cold water such as for noodle water or washing cut vegetables.
