Commemorating the 'Theo Jansen Exhibition': New Discount Ticket Set Added to the World's Only Official 'Strandbeest' Kit

Gakken Inc., a group company of Gakken Holdings, is selling miniature Strandbeest kits at 'Shop Gakken Plus' ahead of the 'Theo Jansen Exhibition,' which will be held at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art starting July 4, 2026. Starting June 1, 2026, the company began offering a set that includes an 'exclusive original design special discount ticket for Shop Gakken Plus.'

The premium set features a gold-colored card-type discount ticket presented on a deep blue backing, designed for collectors. After assembling the kit, visitors are encouraged to experience the real Strandbeest at the exhibition venue.

'Strandbeest' is a 'wind-eating artificial life form' created by Dutch artist Theo Jansen. Gakken's 'Adult Science Magazine' editorial department succeeded in recreating the creatures, earning official recognition from Theo Jansen as the world's only official model kit.

This kit was featured on the NHK Special 'Human Body III' and is highly regarded for its precision. These kits, usually available only at the exhibition venue, are on special sale through June 28, 2026.
