Serialized in 'Big Comic Spirits' starting in 1991, Seiki Tsuchida's youth enka manga 'Ore Bushi' has maintained a passionate fanbase from its debut to the present day. Futabasha Publishers will now release this work, which has also been confirmed for a restaged adaptation starring Motota Matsuda of Travis Japan starting in June of this year, as a remastered edition.
Koji Kaishika decides to leave his home in faraway Tsugaru and head to Tokyo alone, dreaming of becoming an enka singer. With no money and no prospects, he encounters friends, mentors, rivals, and love... This gritty, passionate youth story is woven together with numerous popular songs. Will he become an enka singer?
Centered around the protagonist Koji, his guitar-playing partner Okinawa, and his rival Hata who switched from rock to enka, the narrative woven by these charismatic characters has not faded even in the Reiwa era. In fact, it is a work that can ignite passion precisely because it is the modern day.
Furthermore, for this remastered edition, a gallery of original artwork selected by the editor in charge at the time will be included at the end of each volume. This makes it a must-read even for existing fans of the work.

Comment from the Editor in Charge on the Occasion of the Remastered Edition's Publication
While selecting the original artwork for the gallery, the events from over 30 years ago vividly came back to me from Tsuchi's (Mr. Tsuchida's) grime-covered manuscripts. He made me cry many times, but thinking back now, I can't help but laugh for some reason.
